The progression committee is responsible for reviewing and facilitating candidates’ progression toward graduation. The committee meets monthly to review each candidate’s progress. Each candidate is assigned an individual advisor who will remain with them throughout their training The members of the committee are all candidate advisors. The advisor represents the candidate at committee meetings. Candidates receive regular evaluations from their class instructors and their supervisors. Advisors lead discussions of the candidates’ educational progress. Satisfactory evaluations are required for each step in progression. Candidates are encouraged to take on cases as soon as possible in order to accomplish immersion. Recognizing the different needs of each candidate, the committee maintains a policy of flexibility in attempting to facilitate each candidates progression toward graduation. Supervisors are regularly invited to progression meetings in order to facilitate an exchange of information about each candidate’s strengths and weaknesses . Special attention is paid to each candidate’s learning style. Advisors meet with candidates regularly throughout the year. Candidates are encouraged to discuss all progression concerns with their advisors. The chairman and co-chairman are available to meet with candidates at any time.
