Find out what Columbia trainees and faculty think most distinguishes the Center as a place to learn, teach, and grow.
The Columbia University Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research is pleased to offer two externship tracks for advanced clinical psychology doctoral students interested in learning both the theory and technique of psychodynamic practice. The Adult Track Externship offers coursework and clinical experience in the treatment of adults from a psychodynamic approach. The Adult and Young Adult Track provides training in psychodynamic approaches to the special developmental taskas and clinical problems of individuals in their late teens and early twenties. Externs will work with idividual patients under supervision and attend classes taken by candidates at the Psychoanalytic Center.
Our externship year begins July 1st and ends June 30th. A commitment of approximately 16 hours a week is expected.
